Report Text : What is a Tornado?

         Tornadoes are known as one of the most damaging dosasters. What is the description of tornadoes? A tornado is a very powerful column of winds which spirials around a center of low atmospheric pressure. A tornado will look like a large black funnel which down from a strom cloud.

         The name “Tornado” derives from the Latin “tonare”. It means “to thunder”. While the Spanish developed the word into “tornear” which means “to turn or twist”. This is why a tornado is sometimes called twister or cyclone.

         The winds inside a twister can spin around at speeds up to 500 miles an hour, but usually travels at roughly 300 miles an hour. This speed twisting makes a tornado the most dangerous storm.

         The avarage tornado has a diameter of about 200 to 300 yards. The smaller tornadoes are known as satelite tornadoes. These small offspring, about 50 yards across, can be very fierce and do lots of damage.

         The forming of tornado can be very quick. Sometimes it can form in a minutes or less. A tornado can travel across the ground at high sppeds, then it can suddenly vanish. Most tornadoes last less than twenty minutes and travel less than 15 miles. However, the super stroms sometimes travel over 100 miles before they are exhaused.

Report Text : Chimpanzees

          Chimpanzees use a system of different sounds to communicate with each other. One type of cry seems to mean something like “danger in the air or “big birds” and another apparently means “danger on the ground” or “snakes”. The first cry causes them to hide in holes or under trees and look up at the sky. When they hear the second cry, the hide in the upper branches of trees and stares nervously at the grass. Chimpanzees are capable of learning sign language. One Chip called Washoe learned to make about 160 seperate signs meaning things like “give me a drink” and “banana”.

        Washoe even learned to swear. She had a teacher called Jack who once refused to give her a drink. Washoe got angry and used several signs which mean “dirty Jack”.

Qurban

Kurban menurut bahasa berasal dari kata Qarraba-yaqrabu-qurbin yang berarti mendekat. Menurut istilah kurban adalah menyembelih binatang ternak dengan maksud mendekatkan diri kepada Allah SWT. Waktu yang utama untuk penyembelihan hewan kurban adalah pada hari raya Idul Adha setelah terbitnya matahari dan dapat juga dilakukan pada hari tasyrik yaitu pada tanggal 11, 12, dan 13 Dzulhijjah.

1 . Rukun menyembelih :

a.           Penyembelih hendaknya orang Islam

b.           Binatang yang disembelih adalah binatang yang halal

c.           Alat (perkakas) menyembelih yaitu semua barang tajam, besi, bambu atau yang lainnya kecuali gigi dan kuku.

2. Sunah Menyembelih :

a.           Memotong dua urat yang ada di kiri dan kanan leher

b.           Binatang yang panjaang lehernya, sunnah disembelih dipangkal leherya

c.           Binatang yang disembelih hendaknya digulingkan ke arah sebelah rusuknya yang kiri

d.           Menghadap Kiblat

e.           Membaca Basmallah dan Shalawat Nabi Muhammad SAW.

3. Cara Penyembelihan Hewan Kurban :

a.           Niat memotong hewan kurban karena Allah SWT

b.           Menyiapkan pisau (alat lain yang dipakai memotong) yang benar-benar tajam

c.           Mengikat dengan kuat dan menghadapkan hewan kurban ke arah kiblat

d.           Membaca Basmallah

e.           Membaca shalawat Nabi Muhammad SAW dan keluarganya

f.           Membaca takbir

g.           Memotong hewan kurban sampai  memutuskan urat lehernya

Membaca doa agar kurban diterima Allah
